Title: "The Anguish of Existence"

       

     My goal with this art piece was to bring awareness to the emotional struggles people endure throughout their lives. People experiencing this type of conflict tend to hide their pain from others so they don't appear obtrusive and bothersome. Forcibly suppressing these emotions, however, will start to cause cracks to form in their own psyche, slowly spreading and expanding until a breaking point is reached. The end result is an emotionally broken individual who while on the outside appears to be fine, but in actuality is fragmented and lost. It is my only hope that my artwork will accurately depict the poignant sentiments of people anguished by thoughts of inadequacy and despair. Only by adapting these tragic emotions into a visual format can they be understood from another perspective.
